Coal activated carbon is developed through a series of processes such as carbonization → cooling → activation → washing. Its appearance is generally black cylindrical activated carbon, indefinite coal granular activated carbon, also known as crushed carbon. Cylindrical activated carbon, also known as columnar carbon, is generally made from powdered raw materials and binder by mixing and squeezing, and then by carbonization and activation. It can also be extruded from powdered activated carbon with a binder. It has a well-developed pore structure, good adsorption properties, high mechanical strength, easy to regenerate repeatedly, low cost, etc. It is used in the purification of toxic gases, waste gas treatment, industrial and domestic water purification treatment, solvent recovery, etc. Here are the details of the introduction.

Applications of coal activated carbon

Coal activated carbon is widely used in the deep purification of drinking water, industrial water and wastewater, industrial water purification, and gas phase adsorption, such as power plants, petrochemicals, oil refineries, food and beverage, sugar and wine, pharmaceuticals, electronics, fish farming, shipping, and other industries water purification treatment, can effectively adsorb free chlorine, phenol, sulfur and other organic pollutants in water, especially mutagenic precursors, to purify and remove odor.

Coal activated carbon can also be used for industrial tail gas purification, gas desulphurization, petroleum catalytic reforming, gas separation, variable pressure adsorption, air drying, food preservation, gas masks, demineralization carriers, industrial solvent filtration, decolorization, purification, etc. Separation, purification, and purification of various gases; recovery of organic solvents; decolorization, deodorization, and refinement of sugar, monosodium glutamate, medicine, wine, and beverages; refining of precious metals; catalysts and catalyst carriers in the chemical industry. The product has more functions such as decolorization, purification, deodorization, deodorization, odor removal, carrier, purification, and recycling.

Precautions for storage and transportation of coal activated carbon

1.During transportation, prevent the activated carbon from being mixed with hard substances and do not step on it to prevent the carbon particles from breaking and affecting its quality.

2.Storage should be stored in porous adsorbent, so it should be prevented from water immersion during transportation storage and use because, after water immersion, a large amount of water fills the active void and makes it lose its function.

3.to prevent tar-like substances in the process of use, tar-like substances should be prohibited from being in the activated carbon bed, so as not to block the activated carbon voids, so that it loses its adsorption effect. It is best to have de-tarring equipment to purify the gas.

4.fire activated carbon in storage or transport, to prevent direct contact with fire sources to prevent fire, activated carbon regeneration to avoid oxygen and regeneration thoroughly, regeneration must be cooled with steam down to below 80 ℃, otherwise high temperature, oxygen, activated carbon spontaneous combustion.

Coal activated carbon is a kind of activated carbon, there are many kinds of activated carbon, and different kinds have different uses and advantages, through Jiangsu PURESTAR Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. we can also learn more about kinds of activated carbon and its application fields.
